Top 5 Causes of Car Accidents – Issue 4: SHARING THE ROAD

By 23 February 2018News & Articles

When driving you share the road with pedestrians, cyclists, trucks, buses, large machinery and road workers.

Research shows that 85% of Queenslanders agree we should be more tolerant on the road. Reducing dangerous behaviours, like tailgating, is the first step towards increased tolerance (and safety)!

Safe driving requires good judgement and reflexes, experience, patience and common sense.

There are more cyclists on our roads than ever before.  Common accidents involving cars and cyclists include cars failing to give way to cyclists when exiting streets and driveways, turning right or left and cutting off a cyclist and overtaking too closely to cyclists.

Be alert and yield the right-of-way to any emergency vehicle that is approaching from any direction when it is displaying flashing lights or sounding a siren (or both).

Special consideration should be taken when you’re sharing the road with heavy vehicles.

If you have been injured in a car accident you may be entitled to compensation.  Call Our Gold Coast car accident lawyer on 1300 302 318 for your free consultation.
